What a great week!
Dad’s been complaining about my blankie, saying that it’s getting a little raggedy and stinky. Mom washes it every week, but I can see how food and stuff might get in it since it’s always in my mouth. Since I drag it around everywhere and like to keep it in my mouth, it started getting torn. It doesn’t help that Mom washes it weekly. Personally, I liked my blankie just the way it was. There’s a “sweet spot” that’s the best part of my blankie and whenever Mom washes it, it makes it hard to find. Sometimes I just give up and make a new sweet spot.
Mom bought me a new blankie this week and it’s even BETTER than my old blankie. The fur on the inside of the blankie feels so good against my face when I sleep on it and it’s bigger than my old blankie. It took a while to get used to jumping on my chair with the bigger blankie, but I’ve been practicing a lot. Now I can jump on the couch AND the chair and pull the whole thing up with me.
I think I’m going to grow some more. I’m starving all the time and Mom’s been filling my dish three times a day instead of two. I clean my plate (and then some!) Mom tells me that if I get any bigger, she’s not going to be able to lift me in and out of my car seat. Mom thinks that I can’t get in and out of the car by myself, but really I can. I just like it when she picks me up like a baby. It makes her look silly.
We heard that the weather is going to be bad for the next little while, so Mom took me to the dog park today. We usually don’t go on weekends because that’s usually when the naughty dogs with no manners show up. Normally I wait for a while before I start to play because I like to see who the bullies are. Today, I threw caution into the wind and started chasing another dog as soon as Mom took off my leash. Not too long after I got to the park, I met a new friend named Jack. He is only four months old and he’s a beagle. I could see that look in Mom’s eyes- you know, the one which makes me worry that she’s going to dognap a puppy and take it home with us.
I played really hard and fast for almost two hours. I was so happy when Mom asked me if I wanted to go home. She barely got the words out of her mouth before I jetted off toward the fence. I was so pooped out, that I took a five hour nap on my new blankie almost as soon as we got home.
It’s good to be me.
