I love sunny days!

Mom took me to the dog park today to play with my friends. This was also a good idea for lots of other puppy parents because there were LOTS of new friends for me to play with. I didn’t see any of my regular friends there, probably because they usually come on the week days.

My favorite new friend was a Pug/Shih Tzu mix named Barney. Barney and I played a really fun game, called “potty in the same place”. I’d squat and go potty and then Barney would squat and go potty over the top. Then I’d move another foot or so and go potty there, and he’d potty over mine again. It was really fun, but I ran out of potty after a while so we had to find something new to do. We spent the rest of the time taking turns chasing each other.

I also met two pugs, a beagle and two pug mixes. I think people really like mixing pugs- can you blame them? Pugs are awesome, though Mom says she wishes someone could breed out all the shedding that pugs (and puggles!) do. I don’t know why she doesn’t like seeing my hair all over the floor or even better, taking some of my hair with her whenever she leaves the house. You’d think she’d like the reminder.

Mom had to go and ruin my fun by taking me to get my nails clipped at PetsMart (where my friends at the hotel work. Hi friends! I miss you!) I *hate* getting my nails trimmed! The ladies that clip my nails have told her lots of ways to get me used to having my paws held, but I’m not falling for any of it. Mom feels so bad about the fuss that I make that she tips the nail lady lots of money and I always get a new toy. For all Mom knows, me and the nail lady have made a pact and it’s all for show.

Mom says to tell you that I have a fun new trick called, “which hand?” that she’s going to film for you. She puts a treat in one of her hands and I have to pick which hand it’s in with my paw. She even does some switcho-changeo stuff with her hands and I’m usually right. If I don’t pick the right hand, I always know that it’s in the other hand. I get the treat once I figure out which hand it’s in. Mom knows a lot of really fun games.

We’re s-l-o-w-l-y getting used to the skateboard. When Mom can convince me to stand on it, she’ll take a picture. Stay tuned!
