I love going bye-bye

Mom and Dad have been taking me for lots of car rides, even though most of the time it’s not to visit my friends at the dog park. I heard them say that they’re doing this to get me used to being a good boy in the car.

I’m NINE (and a half) months old now, so it’s probably time I get used to a lot of stuff.

Mom is even letting me sit in the car while she runs into the store on cooler days. That’s a pretty big deal for her because one of her last dogs ripped things up if she was alone. I guess that poor puppy was afraid to be alone.

After seeing this picture, I’m not surprised that Mom wasn’t eager to leave me alone. Mom decided that since I’m a good boy at home and never get into anything I’m not supposed to, she’d let me try the car by myself, only when it’s less than 70 degrees. She doesn’t want me to feel bad even if it’s for less than 10 minutes.

I really like my car seat and sit in it even if I have a choice to sit in Mom’s lap. You’ve heard me mention this before- mom won’t roll down the window because she doesn’t like getting her hair messy. She’ll roll down the window by my car seat though because heck, I don’t mind getting my hair messy. I love sticking my head out and feeling the wind slap against my ears, unless we’re going over 25 miles per hour- then I’m out.

Mom took me in the corvette the other day, because Dad had her car. She stopped at the store and left me in the car. When she came out, she noticed that she’d left the car unlocked (don’t tell Dad) and couldn’t see me when she opened the door. You should have heard her call my name. She sounded pretty scared.

Ha ha ha ha- I pulled a fast one on her. Dad has a little cover in the back of the corvette and I was pretending it was a fort. I was also getting into the cookies we’d got at the puppy store that day. What a fun time that was! I hope she forgets about this, so I can do it again.

Gotcha Mom!

I bought a convertible car seat actually two. That way my son can stay in the same car seat until he is at least 50 lbs. They are both forward facing and rear facing, but my son is still rear facing at 18 months because that’s the safest.
