Thanks Mom and Dad!
I just discovered the strawberries in the garden and boy are they yummy! Mom had to break the news to Dad that all his strawberries are gone. There were only four of them, but summer has just begun. Grow strawberries, GROW!
I’ve been told that kids like me don’t normally love fruits and vegetables, but they don’t know what they’re missing. One of my FAVORITE treats is frozen green beans, corn and limabeans. Dad puts a little bit in my dish in the morning as a treat. Mom gives me baby carrots when she’s working in the kitchen, and she shares bananas with me. She’s the BEST.
Mom keeps me away from the stuff that I’m not supposed to eat. She’s read that fruits and vegetables aren’t bad for me- but they don’t really do anything good for me either. I guess you could say the same thing about rolling in deer poop, right?
The way I see it, if you don’t experiment, you don’t learn what you like. I’ve found that I like a LOT of things. Even playing with dogs. Who knew?

I’m a kitty now? What the heck?
Mom keeps calling me a kitty. Why? Because I lick my paws and clean my face. Does one have to be a kitty to enjoy a clean face? Mom needs to just pay attention to her own self and quit teasing me about my personal hygiene preferences. Do I tease her when she has that wild hair look going on?
::gheesh:: For reals…. Mom says she combs her hair in the morning, but I’ll be darned if I can tell.
Yesterday I met a new dog. He was a big guy, so I decided to test him out before I started to play with him. I laid on my back and let him scoot me around with his foot and nose. I also let him put his mouth around my neck, but he was being really gentle so it was OK. After about fifteen minutes of this, I decided that he wasn’t out to hurt me so I let him know I was ready to play.
Weeeee! Do I love being chased. I’m really good too, because I have lots of great swervy moves making me hard to catch. He was a good chaser, and a lot of fun to play with.
Mom says that I got a taste of my own medicine yesterday. Even though I’m missing a part or two, I still like to make other dogs my ‘girlfriend’ (wink- wink). Mom tells me that this is bad manners, and that I shouldn’t do this sort of thing. Especially in public.
Anyway, this new dog tried to make me his girlfriend and I didn’t like that very much so I learned a new move I like to call, “get my little furry behind away from the other dog jump and twirl.”
NOBODY makes me their girlfriend.
...or kitty (I’m talking to YOU mom..)

Note to self
Mom took me to the dog park again yesterday because she really really loves me. There were a couple of white pugs there named Milo and Otis. Really! I don’t make this stuff up!
Otis was REALLY chubby and couldn’t run without huffing and puffing. I guess this is my future if I don’t quit throwing back the kibble at the speed of light. Mom is such a sucker and always gives me a piece of hotdog when I’ve been a good boy in the kitchen (which, of course, is always.)
I also love training time because Mom gives me a cookie whenever I do something right (which, of course, is always.) We have our training time (I like to call it tricks) three times a day. Mom says it’s so I remember who’s boss. Whatevah….She can believe whatever she wants as long as I get treats.
Hey, didja know I can give a high five? No? Well, I can.
Maybe being smart causes weight gain. Yeah, that’s my story. If I wasn’t so smart, I wouldn’t get so many cookies and wouldn’t be getting pudgy.
Maybe Otis is really smart. I hope so, because he’s certainly not going to get the gals with his looks (oh, and his breath? What the heck has he been eating? Blech!) Mom told me that I’m supposed to say “bless his heart” after saying stuff like that.
Bless his heart.

Mom says that I’m getting pudgy
I went to the place where the nice ladies are to get my stitches out today. They weigh me every time I go and in 10 days I’ve gained 2.5 lbs., putting me at 23.5 lbs total. Come on now- who wouldn’t gain weight if they don’t get to exercise? I’m not going to say anything to Mom, but I think she’s put on a little weight herself. Pudgy… we’ll see who’s calling who pudgy.
When Mom asked the lady how much longer I’ll be growing, she said about three more months. I’m going to be GIGANTIC!
Mom and Dad took me to the dog park after I got my stitches out. I met a couple of new gals and we played for a bit, but the best part was when I got to go swimmin’! Dad tossed sticks in the water and I fetched them. It feels like forever since I’ve been swimmin’.
After the dog park, we went to the pet store and got some treats (and mom wonders why I’m pudgy?) and then went home and napped. Well, I napped. Mom went back to work. I swear, that’s all she does. Oh well, more work outta Mom means more treats for me, right?
