Me and Mom

She loves it when I give her kisses. She may say otherwise, but a dog knows these things….

Dog massacre!

Mom is in BIIIIGGGGGG trouble with me and Dad. She promised that she’d never try to clip my nails again, but she broke her promise yesterday and it became a bloody massacre. Sure, it was my fault because I wouldn’t keep my paw still, but she had no business doing it in the first place.

She says that she feels sorry for the gals at PetSmart when they try to do it because I do NOT take kindly to getting my nails done. She even tips them twice the cost of cutting my nails (20.00). She’s been trying to get me used to people touching my paws by holding them and not letting them go until I’m done throwing a fit. I think we can safely say that all that work has flown right out the window.

There was blood everywhere, and so Mom sent Dad to the pet store to get some of that stuff that stops the bleeding. That only worked until I went outside and tried to dig a hole.

Well, at least I have one over on Mom now. She’s been giving me extra hot dogs and letting me sit on her head even when she’s trying to work. She feels really bad.

I think I might work it for a while, right after I go bury the nail clippers.

My first dog fight

Well, I guess there has to be a first for everything, right? Today I got in my first tussle and it was all my fault. I have a little Corgi friend (darnit! I can’t remember his name!) that is just a little bit younger than me. We’ve played once before and it was just fine except the fact that I wanted to make him my girlfriend.

Mom says it’s a very bad habit and I REALLY need to knock it off.

Anyway, my friend came to the dog park again today and we played a little bit. He’s a tough guy and does NOT take kindly to my bad habit. He put me on my back a few times, in a nice way when I tried to make him my girlfriend. Eventually, he decided that he wanted NOTHING to do with me because I wouldn’t let up. So the next time I tried my moves, he let me have it.

Both our moms told us that playtime was over and that was that.

Before you get upset, Grandma, nobody was hurt. It was just a lot of growling, barking and snarling.

Mom forgot to post the video of the last time I went to the park. I played with one of my favorite big dogs. He’s a Bernese Mountain dog and you can hear mom talking in the background about me making my moves on this guy too.

Sir play a lot

I like big dogs and I can not lie….

OK, I’d better not even try to take that song any further.

I’ve decided that I REALLY like big dogs. Today I made a new friend named Sooner (named after OU, of course…) He is a big black great dane and was a great chaser. He couldn’t catch me though, with my zig-zaggy moves. The last few times Mom has taken me to the dog park, I’ve chosen the biggest dog in the park to play with. Mom says it’s because they’re not as agile as I am and so can’t keep up with the zig and the zag. Whatever, Mom! My zig-zaggy moves are so awesome that I should trademark them.

One of my human friends (Nick’s dad) asked me if I thought I was going to be a big dog like that when I grow up. Do you think he meant it? Wow, that’d be really cool.

I was really sad when Sooner left, but then another big black great dane named Chase came. Poor old guy couldn’t keep up with anyone because he has a bum hip, but that didn’t stop me from batting at him with my paw and barking at him.

Here are a couple of pictures to give my grandma a heart attack. The first one is me barking at Sooner because he wanted to finish playing before I did:

This one is me, Sooner and Riley. Riley and I weren’t in the least bit interested in playing with each other. Even when it was just the two of us. I wasn’t interested in playing with Sooner’s sister either, mostly because she begged me. She was just too needy.

Oh boy!

Mom and Dad are taking me to a puggle meetup this Saturday. It’s at a dog park where there’s off leash swimmin’! Have you ever seen such a bunch of good lookin’ fellas in your entire life?
